About
The Who?:
Pick Up, Live Life (aka PULL) is the collective effort of Trigger and Kane, two guys who met each other on a blog, and thus were destined[1] to start a blog together some day.
The big idea:
The PULL blog was conceived around the idea that men possess the right and responsibility to pursue their true life passions – career, hobbies, enterprise, and importantly – women: Apart from the need to meet fundamental imperatives such as sex, romance, and fatherhood, the greatest joy of life is not only knowing that you have somewhere to go, but someone to go with – to help cushion the blows of hardship and setbacks, and immortalise moments of revelation and celebration.
Also, having read a myriad of pick-up and self-development guides (or at least, Trigger has), we have realised one major overarching inadequacy: The underestimation of the human potential to cop out (Trigger speaks from personal experience). Thus, a substantial fraction of posts will address the lowest common denominator – the Murphy’s Law of self-development and pick-up: 「If there is reason to suspect a cop-out, one will inevitably occur」; and reasons[2] may be as inglorious and stupid-sounding as anything – as they are usually the ones least addressed and most insidious. PULL will provide the 「patches」 for these various bugs so prevalent and successful in confounding the progress of life’s journeymen.
What the PULL blog is not:
Any source of specialisation or expertise. Trigger and Kane do not profess to be gurus in pick-up, entrepreneurship, or leading life with 100% efficiency.
What the PULL blog is:
A shared traveller’s log between two guys on their respective quests of self-development and -actualisation. As mere mortals, we are vulnerable to cop-outs, downward spirals, inexperience, and the like.
However, we do profess to be vaguely insightful and introspective individuals, and any setbacks, plateaus, tangents, and WTFs we encounter, we will diligently document, and annotate with our own quirks and revelations.
We hope you will find our various and miscellaneous opinions and experiences to be eye-opening – or at least amusing, and hopefully see our blogs as a moderate reflection of the everyman’s life journey towards self-discovery and growth.
Who the blog is for:
Anyone with an open mind, a thirst for knowledge, and a passion for life. No doubt, PULL will seem quite male-oriented, by virtue of the male-biased nature of pick-up, and the fact that this blog is run by two heterosexual guys. However, this blog more than welcomes female readership: If there are any female PULL fans out there – Trigger and Kane would love to hear from you.
